HW3X is a self-sealing heat-shrinkable tubing that offers greater protection under adverse environmental conditions. Standard product is supplied with sealant which provides waterproofing and protection in underwater or underground conditions. The polymer tubing has excellent insulating, abrasion-resisting and strain-relief properties. Seals may be made over lead, steel, aluminum, copper and all standard plastic and elastomeric insulating materials.

Also available without sealant (uncoated). When special ordered with flame retardant (FR), tubing meets the requirements of MIL-1-23053/15 Class 1.


1. Allow approx 2" overlay on each end of cable or item to be covered.	2. Tubing shrinks by applying heat at 250ºF/275ºF with torch, heat gun, or other heat source. Shrink from center toward the ends...applying heat on all sides to ensure even shrinkage.	3. Process is completed when the tubing assumes the outline of the item being covered and sealant flows from both ends of the shrink tubing. Additional heating will not make the tubing shrink tighter.
